An der Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main ist am Institut für Mathematik im Fachbereich Informatik und Mathematik zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt folgende Stelle im Beamten- bzw. im Arbeitsverhältnis zu besetzen:

Professur (W2) für Stochastische Modelle der statistischen Physik und der mathematischen Populationsgenetik 

Sie sind eine Persönlichkeit, deren Forschungsgebiet die vorhandene Ausrichtung des Instituts für Mathematik im Bereich Stochastik verstärkt und ergänzt und Kooperationsmöglichkeiten mit den bestehenden Arbeitsgruppen bietet. Sie sind durch international beachtete Publikationen zu stochastischen Modellen der statistischen Physik und der mathematischen Populationsgenetik sowie deren strukturellen Verbindungen sehr gut ausgewiesen. Kooperationsbereitschaft sowie Engagement bei der Einwerbung von Drittmitteln wird erwartet.

Sie beteiligen sich in angemessener Form an der Lehre des Instituts für Mathematik mit Schwerpunkt Stochastik und im Lehrservice für andere Fachbereiche. Dafür haben Sie einschlägige Lehrerfahrung, die Stochastiklehrveranstaltungen für die Naturwissenschaften oder Informatik einschließt.

Von Ihnen wird im Falle Ihrer Berufung eine Beteiligung an der Selbstverwaltung der Universität erwartet. Die Professur ist auch an der Lehrerbildung beteiligt; Erfahrungen und Konzepte zur Vermittlung der Fachinhalte an Schulen werden begrüßt.

Professorship (W2) for Stochastic Models of Statistical Physics and Mathematical Population Genetics

We are seeking a candidate widely recognized for excellent research, whose interests complement our existing capabilities in probability theory and offer possibilities for collaboration with research groups of the Institute of Mathematics. Applicants must have a track record of internationally recognized publications in the area of stochastic models of statistical Physics, mathematical Population Genetics and structural links between these fields.  Furthermore, willingness for cooperation and commitment to acquire third-party funding are expected.

The successful applicant will be actively involved in the teaching tasks of the department with an emphasis on stochastics and including teaching service for other faculties. Therefore the teaching experience of the applicant must include courses on stochastics for computer scientists or natural scientists.  The successful applicant will also be involved in academic self-administration and in teacher education; experiences and concepts for teaching subject matter in schools are welcome.
