Moisés V. Balestro is currently a visiting scholar collaborating with the DFG-project "A BICS-variety of Capitalism? The Emergence of State-Permeated Market Economies in Large Emerging Countries" at the Institute of Political Science from Goethe University with a research project called “The paradoxes of organized capitalism: the German experience and the Brazilian debate about the new developmental state”. He is a professor in Social Sciences at the Research Center and Graduate Program on the Americas at the University of Brasilia and leads a research group on Comparative Studies in Economic Sociology. He furthermore belongs to a research group coordinated by Renato Boschi - Public Policies and Development Strategies. The group is registered at the Brazilian National Scientific Council. His research interests include tripartism, state and development, diversity of capitalism and sociology of markets. Recently, his projects have focused on public employment, industrial and skills policies in Brazil.
