  • Biography

Vangelis Giannakakis is a Belgian-Greek scholar in philosophy presently affiliated with the School of Philosophy at Goethe-Universität Frankfurt. 

Giannakakis holds a PhD in Philosophy from University College Dublin. His doctoral dissertation developed a critical, comparative reading of Theodor W. Adorno’s negative dialectics and Alain Badiou’s theory of the event. His research focuses on the first generation of Critical Theorists and Contemporary Continental Philosophy. He writes on a broad range of themes in philosophy, often with an emphasis on aesthetics, culture and social-political experience.
