Hanns-Christian Mahler is currently extraordinary Professor of Pharmaceutical Technology at J.W. Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany and Head of Drug Product Services at Lonza AG, Basel, Switzerland. He studied Pharmacy at the University of Mainz, Germany and obtained his pharmacist’s license. His Ph.D. degree was earned at the University of Mainz in the field of Pharmacology & Toxicology under the direction of Prof. Bernd Epe. He joined Merck KGaA in 2000 where he worked as Principal Scientist, Formulation Development and CMC Team Leader. He worked at Roche, Basel from 2005-2015, where he initially led Formulation Development of Biologics and was later appointed head of the department “Pharmaceutical Development & Supplies”. He obtained his venia legend in Pharmaceutical Technology from the J.W. Goethe University of Frankfurt, Germany in the group of Prof. Jörg Kreuter in 2010.

Honors and awards received by Prof. Mahler include the election to Fellow status in AAPS.
