Curriculum Vitae   

Mona Abdel-Tawab is currently the Deputy Scientific Manager of the Zentrallaboratoium Deutscher Apotheker. She was born in Cairo 1965 and studied pharmacy at the Cairo University, where she obtained her Bachelor B.Sc. (summa cum laude with honor degree) in 1989. Two years later in 1991 she obtained her German pharmacist’s license. Following eight years of professional experience in a community pharmacy in Frankfurt am Main she started 1998 her PhD thesis at the J.W. Goethe University of Frankfurt under supervision of Prof. Dr. Schubert-Zsilavecz and Prof. Dr. Michael Karas. In 2003 she earned her Ph.D. degree at the J.W. Goethe University in the field of Pharmaceutical Chemistry. Afterwards she joined the Zentrallaboratorium Deutscher Apotheker in 2003, where she worked as Assistant of the Scientific Management and Head of the Research and Development Department. In 2010 she was appointed the Deputy Scientific Management of the Zentrallaboratorium Deutscher Apotheker. In 2013 she obtained her venia legend in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the J.W. Goethe University of Frankfurt and was assigned the Professor title from the J.W. Goethe University in 2016. Currently she is teaching the 5th semester in pharmaceutical pharmacopoeial analysis.

Apl.-Prof. Dr. Mona Abdel-Tawab (Deutsch)

Mona Abdel-Tawab ist zur Zeit die stellvertretende wissenschaftliche Leiterin des Zentrallaboratorium Deutscher Apotheker. Sie wurde 1965 in Kairo geboren und studierte Pharmazie an der Kairo Universität, wo sie das Studium 1989 mit dem akademischen Grad Bachelor B.Sc. (Auszeichnung mit Ehrengrad) abgeschlossen hat. Zwei Jahre später in 1991 erhielt sie die Deutsche Approbation als Apothekerin. Nach acht Jahren Berufserfahrung in einer Offizinapotheke in Frankfurt am Main begann sie 1998 ihre Promotionsarbeit an der J. W. Goethe Universität in Frankfurt unter Leitung von Prof. Dr. Schubert-Zsilavecz und Prof. Dr. Michael Karas. Im Nachgang zu ihrer Promotion im Fachbereich Pharmazeutische Chemie startete sie im Jahre 2003 ihre berufliche Tätigkeit im Zentrallaboratorium Deutscher Apotheker als Assistentin der Wissenschaftlichen Leitung und Leiterin der Forschungs- und Entwicklungsabteilung. In 2010 wurde sie zur stellvertretenden wissenschaftlichen Leiterin des Zentrallaboratorium Deutscher Apotheker ernannt. In 2016 habilitierte sie sich an der J. W. Goethe Universität in Frankfurt am Main für das Fach Pharmazeutische Chemie, wo sie bereits seit 2003 in der Lehre engagiert war.  2016 erfolgte die Ernennung zur Außerplanmäßigen Professorin im Fach Pharmazeutische Chemie. Zur Zeit unterrichtet sie das 5. Semester in Arzneibuchanalytik und Pharmazeutische Chemie II.
