Kathrin Eitel is a social and cultural anthropologist, political and historical scientist. After her graduation from Ruprecht-Karls-University in Heidelberg and her study abroad at Istanbul Technical University (ITÜ) in Istanbul, she was working as a research associate at the study program “Metropolitan Cultures” at HafenCity University in Hamburg, before she came to Frankfurt. Since January 2017 Kathrin Eitel is now supporting the Institute for Cultural Anthropology and European Ethnology atGoethe-University Frankfurt.

Her dissertation project focused on waste management on a minor scale in the urban area of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Furthermore, she is founder and chairman of the non-profit association changeperspectives e.V. and is involved in political work at the university.
