A Vice President at Goethe University since 2009, Rainer Klump served as the Chairman of the Faculty of Economics at Goethe University between 2006 and 2009. Before he came to Frankfurt, he held the Ludwig Erhard Professorship in economic policy at the University of Ulm (1997-2000), where he also served as Chairman of the Faculty for Economic Policy, and a professorship in economics and economic development at the University of Würzburg (1992-97). After completing his studies in economics at the Universities of Mainz, Paris I, and Erlangen-Nürnberg in 1983, Klump had embarked on his academic career as a Research Fellow at the Institute for Economics, University Erlangen-Nürnberg.
