Who can apply?

Exchange and Program Students (e.g. ERASMUS)

Your institute of higher education or sponsoring organization has registered you as a guest student at the University of Frankfurt.

1. Please complete this online form, it will be your application. After having entered (and sent) the appropriate data into the online-application the form will be turned into a PDF file.
2. Print the PDF-document.
3. Go to the proper ERASMUS-/SOCRATES office and have them sign and stamp the application.
4. At this point, you must sign the application.
5. Send us the application.

Free Movers

We would kindly request you to enclose and send us an application form (Zulassungsantrag, as doc or pdf), a letter of invitation originating from a professor at Goethe University in Frankfurt, a motivation letter, and a certificate of enrolment. In addition, your application should arrive on or before the deadline date. If these requirements are not met, unfortunately, we cannot accept your application.

Once again, please keep the deadlines in mind! If your application arrives late, we cannot guarantee you acceptance to the university for the requested semester.

What happens now?

After your application has been processed, you will receive an acceptance letter (Zulassungsbescheid) from us. Along with the acceptance letter, you will be receiving the necessary documents for enrollment. Among these documents, there will be a money wire transfer form, which will be used to pay your semester contribution (Semesterbeitrag) to Goethe University. Payment for the upcoming semester will be completed upon or after arrival in Germany (and not before!). Last, if you applied for a spot in the dormitory, you will be informed as to whether it was possible to reserve a room.
