Goethe-run 2021 – Be a part of doing good! - cooperation partner: Techniker Krankenkasse.

With a baby in a carrier or in the rather ambitious altitude of a thousand metres, no matter if they were at the Atlantic, in South Tirol or at our local Grüneburgpark – 199 participants made our third 5,8km Goethe-Race a success.

The 2021 Goethe-Race proceeded as another online-event, as we didn’t want to take any unnecessary risks in regard to Corona. Students and staff of the Goethe-University could sign up for our online-race between the 28th of August 2021 and the 5th of September 2021. After that everyone could choose their own 5,8km distance route, take their own time and send it in.

Signing up was twice as valuable this year, as our cooperation partner the Techniker Krankenkasse donated 3€ per sign up towards flood affected regions. Here we would like to say: Thank you, Techniker Krankenkasse!

Aside from partaking in the good cause, the fastest male and female participant could also win a free sign up in one of our courses, of their choice, in the upcoming winter-semester. At this point we want to wholeheartedly congratulate our two first places: Cecília Llaó Cid (Team Palmeritas) with her (24:13 minutes) and Marvin Thomas with his (20:17 minutes)!

This year’s biggest team was “Halos from Hell” with 12 participants, they won an SUP-Teamevent at the Main.

We are happy to congratulate Daniel Wasser, Hanna Özer, Martin Töpfer, Nico Vogel, Jörg Soppa, Deniz Üresin, Birgit Baechle-Jourdan (and her dog), Christina Himmerich, Heiko Buhlmann, Anzhelika Yashukova, Andreas Borst and Mathias Hammelmann!

As speed isn’t everything we also held raffles for three theme oriented neck gaiters and three Sportscards (the flat rate for our online-courses – limited to the winter-semester 2021//22) among all participants.

These neck-gaiters went to Theresa Henke, Tim Kögler and Harald Schwalbe, while the Sportscards have been won by Anja Dölle, Elke Duchardt-Ferner and Andreas Krämer, congratulations everyone!

Again our participants feedback was overwhelmingly positive and we have decided to share some of it here, as we’re very happy that you had so much fun and want to say thank you for participating.
