Kooperation zwischen Kigali und Frankfurt
Goethe University Project Leader: Prof. Dr. Nicola Kistler.
The initiative is a joint cooperation between DAAD, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, the Goethe University Frankfurt and AIMS Rwanda, the African Institute of Mathematical Sciences in Kigali.
The project, which spans over the period 2022-2026, aims at boosting higher mathematical education and research in Africa, as well as strenghtening the international ties between the AIMS network and German universities, in particular the GU Frankfurt.
The local project leader in Rwanda is Prof. Dr. Jan Hazla, von Humboldt Research Chair.
Two PhD students and two Postdocs, all based in Kigali, are funded within the initiative, which also involves numerous activities such as summer schools and workshops in Rwanda and Germany, with (junior and senior) participants from both countries.
