The Institute

The main research interest of our institute concerns the molecular mechanisms governing the activation of Natural Killer (NK) cells in humans. We are not only interested in elucidating basic molecular mechanisms of NK cell activation in order to foster the understanding of NK cell recognition of virus-infected cells and tumors. We also have a profound interest to translate these findings into clinically relevant applications.

Master Programme

Since October 2013 (WS 2013/14) a M.Sc. study programme in Molecular Medicine is offered by the Faculty of Medicine of the Goethe-University. The 2-years research-based programme focuses on the theoretical and experimental training in the areas of cardiovascular research, oncology, immunology and molecular pharmacology. The M.Sc. programme Molecular Medicine starts once every year in fall.
