MR Core Structure of the BIC

The MR Core Structure of the BIC is a combined research and support group, consisting of MR physicists, a system administrator and a radiographer. Activities comprise the maintenance of both MR scanners, the performance of regular quality checks, the organization of maintenance works and contacting the manufacturers of MR-related equipment in the case of malfunction. In particular, members of the MR core structure support researchers at the BIC with the set-up of their projects and the installation of the respective MR protocols. Furthermore, they provide safety introductions and training courses, maintain the scanner diary and organise weekly project presentations. Further to these support activities, members of the MR Core Structure pursue own research projects in the fields of MR imaging and MR spectroscopy that involve the creation of novel imaging techniques or tools for data analysis.
