Welcome to the Acute Leukemia Research Group

FORSCHUNGSINTERESSEN - RESEARCH INTERESTS)

- Diagnostik , molekulare Pathomechanismen und Therapie von Hochrisiko Akuten Lymphatischen Leukämien (ALL) bei
Kleinkindern, Jugendlichen und Erwachsenen (verursacht durch MLL-Translokationen)
- Diagnostic, molecular pathomechanisms and therapy of high-risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in infants, children and
  adults (caused by MLL translocations)

Mission

Mission

The Acute Leukemia Research Group is aiming to develop new therapeutic strategies and drugs for the treatment of specific subtypes of infant and childhood high-risk Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).

Research

Research

Chromosomal translocations of the human MLL gene located on the long arm of chromosome 11 (q23) are associated with high-risc acute leukemias. In all translocations of the MLL gene, this particular gene is reciprocally recombined with "translocation partner genes", resulting in the generation of two new fusion genes ("chimerization").
