Dr. Martin Kind, research fellow

Member of the institute of inorganic and analytical chemistry, group of Andreas Terfort.

Research Interests

Surface science, especially the modification of surfaces, like (organic) functionalization and patterning, with the aim to investigate their application e.g. in organic electronics, sensing, as templates for specific binding of biomolecules, for antibiofouling. Special focus lies on self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) and surface-bound metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). Mainly used experimental methods are surface-selective spectroscopies, especially infrared reflection-absorption spectroscopy (IRRAS). Further methods employed in our group: ellipsometry, scanning tunelling microscopy (STM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and others.
