Goethe University's Master of Science in Management Science is catering to ambitious bachelor’s graduates striving for an international career. We have designed a program that will ensure a unique learning experience and ideal job market opportunities. Our faculty is committed to establishing the Master in Management Science as a premier management program in Europe that shall attain top positions in international rankings.

Conditions of admission

Admission requirements
  • Bachelor´s degree in economics, business administration or related fields. Degrees in related subjects might be considered if you have acquired at least 90 ECTS credits from economics, management, or business administration.
  • Proof of English Proficiency:
    - TOEFL (minimum score 95) or
    - IELTS Academic (minimum band score 7.0) or
    - Cambridge Certificate (C1) or
    - UNIcert (level 3)
    This can be waived in case you have completed your bachelor’s degree at a university in a majority English speaking country (e.g. USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand).
    Language certificates must not be older than five years at the end of the application deadline.
Provisional admission If you have not yet completed your bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), you can apply for the program if you have received at least 80% of the CP required for graduation (e.g. 144 CP in a normal 180 CP bachelor’s program). 
This provisional certificate must be issued by an office authorized to award grades or issue certificates. In this case, the admission is provisional. Provisional admission is valid until the end of the first semester of the master’s program. The bachelor’s degree must thus be handed in by March 31 (winter intake) or September 30 (summer intake) the latest.

Documents to be submitted

Obligatory Documents

  • Copy of your university entrance qualification (e.g. A-level)
  • Certified copy of the Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Administration or related fields
  • If the Bachelor's degree has not yet been completed:
    - a transcript of records or an equivalent document listing the performances to date with individual marks and an interim grade
    - proof of current enrollment in the bachelor program
  • Proof of proficiency in English (TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge or UNIcert; can only be waived if applicants studied in a majority English speaking country, e.g. UK, USA, Canada, Australia)
  • Curriculum vitae
  • APS certificate for applicants from India, Vietnam and PR of China (original)

  • Proof of semester(s) abroad
  • Proof of internship abroad
  • Proof of additional foreign language (not mother tongue or English)
