Poetics of the Contemporary | Contemporary Literature and Aesthetics

  • Tendency. A Theory of Contemporary Literature (planned essay book). Tendency argues that the writing of contemporary literature, was and continues to be animated by a split between intervening in the pressing issues of the moment (for instance by articulating, configuring, or inciting political contest) on the one hand, and aesthetically modelling the dynamics, lawfullness, and directionality (social, material, historical) that shape the present on the other.
