FIELD OF RESEARCH

Atmospheric drivers of extreme floods
The interdisciplinary DFG Research Unit “Space-Time Dynamics of Extreme Floods” (SPATE, http://www.spate-floods.com) investigates the development of extreme floods in space and time with focus on the involved processes in the atmosphere and river catchment. My research focuses on the large-scale atmospheric conditions leading to extreme flood events, as well as local processes that enhance precipitation.
