In 2018, Matthias Plennert joined the department of human geography at the Goethe University Frankfurt am Main. He is a PhD candidate and works as a research associate with a focus on teaching in quantitative methods, such as web-based data acquisition, data mining and critical statistics. In doing so, he draws on theories and approaches of the software studies and science and technology studies. He and his colleagues write about their most recent research activities on geoweb-studien.de. Previously, Matthias Plennert worked as a research associate at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg where he also graduated as Master of Arts in cultural geography with a special focus on digital geographies.
