„Strengthening the Korean Studies Education Capacity through the Glocalization of Frankfurt Korean Studies“ (2018-2021)
Die Korea Studien Frankfurt erhielten durch das AKS Seed Program die Förderung für ein zweites Projekt (2018-2021) in dem einen Fokus auf die Bereiche Lehre, Forschung und Networking gelegt wird.
Ein facettenreiches Curriculum, das den Studierenden koreanische Geschichte, Literatur, Philosophie, Linguistik und weitere wichtige Aspekte vermittelt, soll die Qualität der Korea Studien Frankfurt stärken. Auch der Ausbau des Sprachunterrichtes liegt im Fokus. In beiden Bereichen werden digitale Lehrmaterialen angewendet und innovative Lehrmethoden berücksichtigt. Das Kursangebot wird auch für den Master of East Asian Studies ausgeweitet.
Durch Austausch- und Stipendien-Programme sowie Mentoring werden die Studierenden bestmöglich unterstützt. Auch die Kooperation mit der regionalen Industrie u.a. in Form von Karriereabenden wird als wichtiger Ansatz für die Unterstützung zur Graduierung gesehen.
Wissensaustausch mit internationalen Koreanisten und mit Korea Studien-Instituten in Korea selbst fördert nicht nur Kooperationen, sondern auch das Lehrangebot für unsere Studierenden. Zusätzlich wird die Möglichkeit geboten, an Konferenzen, Workshops und anderen Projektformen teilzunehmen.
Das Forschungsprojekt ‚Korea and the Global Society - Engagement and Reciprocity‘ beschäftigt sich mit den vielseitige Interaktionen zwischen Korea und Deutschland als auch der globalen Gemeinschaft. Die Forschungsergebnisse wurden im Dezember 2020 durch eine internationale Konferenz ‚Korea and the Global Society - Engagement and Reciprocity‘ der Öffentlichkeit präsentiert. Eine Publikation ist in Arbeit.
Neben wissenschaftlichem Austausch in verschiedenen Bereichen wird die Finanzierung eines PR-Videos möglich und die Förderung von weiteren Kampagnen, die die Korea Studien Frankfurt in der Rhein-Main Region bekannter machen. So zum Beispiel das Filmfestival Projekt K und der User Created Content (UCC) Wettbewerb zu koreabezogenen Themen.

Korean Studies Frankfurt received funding from the AKS Seed Program for a second project (2018-2021) which focuses on teaching, research and networking.
A multifaceted curriculum that includes Korean history, literature, philosophy, linguistics and other important aspects strengthens the quality of the teaching content offered by Korean Studies Frankfurt. Language courses are also be optimised for an easier learning process. In both areas, digital teaching materials are used and innovative educational methods taken into account. Additionally, the courses offered for the Master of East Asian Studies are expanded.
Through exchange and scholarship programs as well as mentoring, the students are supported in order to promote success in their studies. Cooperation with the regional industry, for instance in the form of career events, is also an important approach to supporting students in the completion of their studies at Korean Studies Frankfurt.
Knowledge exchange with international Korean Studies scholars and institutes from Korea not only contributes to strengthening cooperation, but also offers the students a more diverse range of lectures. In addition, they also have the opportunity to participate in conferences, workshops and other projects.
As part of the research project 'Korea and the Global Society: Engagement and Reciprocity', diverse interactions between Korea and Germany as well as the global community are explored. The research results were presented in December 2020 at the international conference ‘Korea and the Global Society: Engagement and Reciprocity’. A publication of the work presented at this conference is currently in progress.
In addition to the academic exchange in various areas, the financing of a PR video as well as the promotion of further campaigns to promote Korean Studies Frankfurt in the Rhine-Main region is made possible, such as the Korean Film Festival Project K and the User Created Content (UCC) competition on Korea-related topics.
