Scholarship programs may financially support your stay abroad. Structured programs are one option to fund your internships. Structured programs offer both internship placements and financial funding, i.e. a structured program gets you in touch with possible internship employers and is funding you during the internship period. Generally, however, you need to search for an internship by yourself. Once you have a confirmed internship, you can apply for scholarships.

In the following, we are going to introduce to you some of the major scholarship programs available for students interning abroad.

There are two major scholarship programs: Erasmus+ and PROMOS. Together they cover almost every country in the world. Erasmus+ is applicable for internships in European Union as well as some related countries. PROMOS is applicable in almost every country (outside of European Union). In addition, there are many more specific scholarship programs, which either cover certain regional areas (e.g. France, Russia, and Japan) or study programs (e.g. sciences, teacher education).
