Digital tools and digital foreign language competencies

Corona meldung

REVISED SEMINAR DESCRIPTION (DUE TO THE CURRENT SITUATION CAUSED BY THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC):

This seminar has been turned into an online/distant learning format. It follows the teaching and learning approaches of cooperative and project-based learning. Based on theoretical input and research activities, students will get together in project teams to develop tasks that target the development of particular English foreign language skills and digital competencies by way of using digitals tools for English language learning. In response to the current situation (coronavirus pandemic) we attempt to support teachers of English by designing English distant learning tasks tailored to their needs (in terms of target / student group and topics).

Intended Learning Outcomes
In the end of the seminar the participants…
  • can explain in their own words what digital tools and digital (foreign language) competencies are
  • can provide / refer to information about what research there is on the use of digital tools in the EFLC
  • have done research on and tested selected digital tools
  • have expertise in using several digital tools for English foreign language learning
  • have designed, reflected on, and revised tasks for developing English foreign language skills and digital competencies (by way of using digital tools)
  • can express in their own words whether or not they support using digital tools in the EFLC
