Africa in Education

Knowledge about Africa is our profession. We conduct research and teach on topics related to Africa. Particularly impressive here are the linguistic and cultural diversity and the special features of certain regions or individual countries. The image of Africa and the people who come from this continent that prevails in Germany is often characterized by uncertainty and ignorance. How our image of Africa is formed and how we can influence it positively is also a concern of ours.

Our current offerings of lectures and interactive events, which we would be happy to bring to your school, are:

  • Linguistic diversity in Africa
  • Describing endangered languages
  • History and culture of specific regions or countries in Africa
  • Germany experiences Africa: The history of our image of Africa
