Gender Equality & Diversity Action Plans (GEDAPS)

To help the faculties compile a Gender Equality & Diversity Action Plan (GEDAP), the Equal Opportunities Office makes available planning and reporting tools. These include:

  • Differentiated gender statistics (year-by-year comparisons, target attainment, comparative figures)
  • A reporting template for:
      
  • Analysing the baseline (in qualification levels, in professorial appointments, concerning the
    integration of gender and diversity in research and teaching in the respective faculty)
 
  • Identifying priority objectives and target groups for the next planning period
 
  • Documenting and (self-)assessing measures implemented in the past reporting period
 
  • Recording new measures planned for the coming period (goals, target groups, costs,
    responsibilities)
  • An accompanying questionnaire “Equal Opportunities" as a source of inspiration for documenting the status quo and discussing future developments in the faculty.

The process comprises:

  • A kick-off meeting between the Equal Opportunities Office and the respective faculty
  • Internal discussion and analysis within the faculty
  • A feedback meeting, with further recommendations, if necessary, on the measures planned within the faculty, prior to their adoption by the Faculty Council; criteria are appropriateness for the target group and suitability of the measures as well as the quality criteria of the “Research-oriented Standards on Gender Equality" of the German Research Foundation (DFG)
  • A mid-term meeting, approximately after half of the term
