Manifestations against planned Budget Cuts for all Universities in Hesse
We are present at manifestations against the Hochschulpakt 2026. MakeLab
and other student initiatives are significantly affected by the
planned cuts, as the Educationpact provides the QSL funds from which
almost all MakeLab projects are financed. With such a cut, we would
have to drastically reduce opening hours and the accessibility of the
workshop would be jeopardized. The expansion of workshop areas, which
we adapt to the demands and wishes of users, would also no longer be
possible. Other student projects and synergies in and around the
MakeLab would be deprived of their basis. QSL funds are almost the
only and, above all, the lowest-threshold source of funding for
student projects.
