Welcome to the Institute of Physics

We investigate the structure and dynamics of condensed matter. Solids are analyzed with respect to their electronic and magnetic properties, superconductivity, magnetism, metal–insulator transitions, and terahertz radiation.

(1923–2020) was an American condensed matter physicist who received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1977. He is regarded as one of the founders of modern condensed matter and many-body physics, whose work on magnetism, electron localization, and symmetry breaking fundamentally transformed our understanding of matter.

More is different.
