The department of physics offers teacher training programs for secondary schools (L3), middle schools (L2), and special-needs schools (L5). Additionally, the department contributes to the general education training of elementary school teachers (L1).

Application, admission, and enrollment

Access to teacher training programs for L3 and L1 at Goethe University Frankfurt is restricted (NC), although there are no restrictions on admission to the physics program in L3. Access to teacher training programs for L2 and L5 is not restricted. Further information can be found on the central pages of Goethe University.

Practical Courses in Teacher Training Programs

During their studies, teacher training students must complete practical modules and study-related internships in schools. Further information can be found on the page of the Academy for Educational Research and Teacher Training (ABL).

Conclusion of Studies

The teacher training program concludes with the first state examination. The examination is organized by the Hessian Teacher Academy (HLA). For more information about the first state examinations, please visit the HLA website.
