Course structure and planning

The minor bachelor's degree program in Social and Cultural Anthropology is divided into an introductory and a basic phase. Both phases can be studied in parallel, but it is recommended that you take the introductory modules first, if possible. The course Scientific Working Techniques in particular will teach you important subject-specific basics.

If there are scheduling conflicts with your major, the courses for your major take precedence. Please note, however, that the lecture on Topics in Social and Cultural Anthropology is only offered in the summer semester and the lecture on basic questions in Social and Cultural Anthropologyis only offered in the winter semester.

Completion of the minor

To complete the minor, students write a final report as part of their coursework, in which they reflect on the subject-specific and interdisciplinary skills they have acquired during their minor studies. The report is 4 pages long and is not graded.

Once you have completed all the requirements for your minor, submit the report to Ronja Metzger-Ajah by email. No prior registration is necessary.
