About BIC@Goethe

The Brain Imaging Center (BIC@Goethe) is a research center operated by the Goethe University, Frankfurt. The BIC@Goethe is integral part of the CoBIC, a cooperation between the Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics, Ernst Struengmann Institute for Neuroscience and the Goethe University. It is dedicated to the investigation of the structure and function of the human brain.

The research at CoBIC focuses on the cerebral foundations of language, memory, information processing, and music. Translational projects aim to improve the understanding of neurological and psychiatric disorders by integrating the latest imaging research into clinical practice. In collaboration with various neuroscience disciplines, CoBIC also contributes to basic research to advance knowledge and improve future patient care. In particular, the close cooperation of clinical and non-clinical scientists allows to bridge the gap between basic and clinical research.

The collaboration grants CoBIC members and external users access to high technology provided by the cooperation partners and offers a highly interdisciplinary interactive work environment.
