Perspectives

Dear Alumni, Alumnae, and Friends of Goethe University,

We’re EXCITEd – may we share our enthusiasm with you? EXCITE stands for "Excellent. Collaborative. Transformative." This is the proposal we, as the Rhine-Main Universities, have submitted as part of the Excellence Strategy of the federal and state governments. Together – Goethe University Frankfurt, TU Darmstadt, and Gutenberg University Mainz – we aim to achieve the status of a University of Excellence as the RMU alliance.

Bridging Medicine and Engineering Mindsets

The RMU Medical Engineering degree program exemplifies the power of cooperation

What happens when complementary expertise from universities comes together to create new opportunities? The Rhine-Main Universities alliance demonstrates the potential that arises when distinct profiles are not diluted but intentionally combined. The joint Medical Engineering degree program offered by Goethe University Frankfurt and TU Darmstadt is a prime example of this collaborative strength. Here, clinical experience and engineering expertise intersect—structured, enduring, and with measurable success. A closer look at one of the students reveals how this degree program shapes individuals and opens new horizons.
