Important Dates and Deadlines

Certain deadlines are decisive for your pathway to the university. Knowing the dates allows you to plan confidently and avoid unnecessary obstacles.

The deadlines mentioned here are final. Applications or proposals for matriculation submitted after these deadlines cannot be considered.

Submitting your application early and in full will give you more time to look for accommodation.

Application Deadlines and Dates

The deadlines listed below also apply to applications for a higher study semester, (post)graduate studies, a change of subject, or enrollment in two programs of study at one university (unless specific deadlines are indicated on the respective webpages).

Important note for applicants with older or recent secondary school leaving certificates: Uniform deadlines apply to applications submitted directly to Goethe University—no distinction is made between older and recent secondary school graduates. Your higher education entrance qualification must be fully available by the end of the application deadline. Preliminary certificates are not sufficient, and submitting documents after the deadline is not possible. If you receive your secondary school leaving certificate after the deadline, you will only be able to apply during the next application process.

A distinction between older and recent secondary school graduates is only made for nationally restricted admission programs (medicine, dentistry, pharmacy). In these cases, applications are submitted through the Foundation for University Admissions (more information hier).

Deadlines and dates for registration

Registration must be completed by the deadline specified in the acceptance letter or on Goethe-Campus.

Please pay special attention to the supporting documentation required for registration, which must be submitted or uploaded on time, and ensure the semester fee is transferred promptly.
