Allocation of Study Places through Lottery System

After the completion of all regular admission procedures, there may still be open spots available in degree programs with restricted admission.

The Lottery System for the Summer Semester 2026

On this page, you’ll find all degree programs that will have a lottery system for the upcoming semester. If your desired degree program is not listed, it means there will be no lottery system for it.

In some degree programs, the deadline for accepting regular admissions in the main or subsequent selection process ends shortly before the lottery system begins. These programs are marked with an asterisk. You can apply for the lottery system in these subjects within the respective deadline as a precaution, but whether remaining spots will actually be allocated through the lottery is only determined very late.

Important to know

You are not automatically included in the lottery system – even if you have applied before. A separate application is required.

Clue about the lottery system in master's programs

Whether a lottery system will be used for a degree program is determined only after the regular admission process has been completed. If there are still university places available afterward, they will be allocated through the lottery system.

If you receive notification through the lottery system, you can only enroll for this university place if the department confirms that you meet the requirements outlined in the master's degree regulations.
