Course content and focus areas

The Master’s program “AI and Digital Technology in Learning and Instruction”, situated at the intersection of computer science and educational psychology, systematically prepares students for the scientific analysis, design, and evaluation of AI-based and digital technologies in educational processes.

The program is designed as a consecutive and interdisciplinary degree and is aimed at graduates holding either a B.Sc. in Psychology or a B.Sc. in Computer Science. In addition to introductory modules, students in the first year acquire targeted foundational knowledge of the respective other discipline through advanced modules. Building on this foundation, joint specialization modules further develop the core competencies required for AI-supported educational processes. A practical module also provides insights into potential future career fields.

Over the course of the program, students acquire in-depth subject knowledge, methodological expertise, and practice-oriented skills for qualified professional activities in the field of AI and digital education. They will be able to develop and evaluate AI-supported learning systems, analyze and optimize educational processes based on data, and advise organizations on the strategic implementation of educational technologies, for example in educational administration or in the EdTech sector.
