Course content and focus areas
The research-oriented master's program "Geographies of Globalization – Markets and Metropolises" focuses on the challenges people face at various spatial scales in the global age. What drives globalisation processes? How do global markets function, and what strategies do transnational companies pursue? Why is globalisation associated with spatial inequalities? What does globalisation mean for cities and regions? What socio-economic disruptions does the global age bring to urban areas, and how can these challenges be addressed?
The master's program builds on the research strengths of Frankfurt's human geography and offers the opportunity to specialize in one of two areas: "Urban Geography" and "Economic Geography."
