Course content and focus areas

The master's program in computer science is designed for graduates of academically oriented bachelor's programs in computer science, as well as graduates of related degree programs. The master's degree in computer science is the second professional qualification after the bachelor's degree in computer science and deepens and broadens knowledge in the field, fostering independent academic work. The program particularly aims to inspire students to engage in independent research and development work by building on conveyed methods, system expertise, and various academic perspectives.

This master's program equips graduates with a strong foundation for successful careers in administration, business, industry, and research throughout their professional lives. It goes beyond teaching current content by providing theoretically grounded fundamental concepts and methods that remain relevant beyond current trends.

The program offers students advanced principles, concepts, and methods in computer science. Upon completing their education, graduates should be able to tackle tasks in various application areas under given technical, economic, and social conditions using computer science tools, develop corresponding systems, and manage projects. They should also be able to apply the learned concepts and methods to future developments. Building on the bachelor's program, students can either gain insight into an additional application field or deepen their knowledge in the application field chosen during their bachelor's studies.
