Course content and focus areas

This M.Sc. program offers a comprehensive deep dive into methodological, diagnostic, and scientific knowledge, with a focus on Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy. Additionally, the master's program provides professional qualifications for psychotherapeutic treatment of patients.

The aim of the program is to equip students with specialized knowledge and skills during the course of their M.Sc. studies, enabling them to pursue a professional career as psychotherapists. The program is practice-oriented, allowing students to actively participate in psychotherapeutic treatments during their studies.

Graduates of this program are primarily prepared for work in psychotherapy within outpatient and inpatient care for mental health disorders. Other career paths include diagnostics and interventions in areas such as counseling centers, rehabilitation facilities, prevention programs, (corporate) health care, or roles as evaluators, administrators in the healthcare sector, and psychotherapy researchers.

Earning the master's degree fulfills the requirements for licensure and postgraduate training to become a specialized psychotherapist. With licensure, graduates can work in clinics and similar institutions, and after completing postgraduate training, they can also establish their own psychotherapeutic practice.
