Degree-program objectives
Students minoring in cultural anthropology and European ethnology will be equipped to productively use current methods, research findings, and explanatory models from program to gain a competent understanding of contemporary processes of change in our society. They will acquire knowledge about the following processes:
- urban growth and densification, which are closely linked to increased mobility and pose challenges for infrastructure development,
- the growing importance of expertise in natural sciences and technology for individuals and societies, particularly with regard to human-environment relations, health, and nutrition,
- the intensification of transnational relations between individual regions and countries within Europe and their interrelationship with global developments
- the use and development of digital network media and their significance for knowledge development, information storage, social relationships, and work organization.
