Course content and focus areas

The master's degree program Urban Studies – Stadtforschung, M.A., is offered jointly by the Faculty of Social and Historical Sciences at TU Darmstadt and the Faculty of Earth Sciences / Geography at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt.  

Key areas of focus in the degree program include urban and spatial sociology, governance, economic and urban geography, and urban and environmental history. Modules offered in Frankfurt include concepts of globalisation and urban social inequality.  

Electives available include real estate management, real estate law, fundamentals of spatial planning, and environmental planning.
