Preliminary and Introductory Courses

Some departments offer so-called preparatory or bridging courses designed to address any gaps in prior school knowledge before the program start. These courses typically take place shortly before the start of lectures. On this page, you will find an overview of selected courses. You may find additional opportunities of interest on your department's pages.

The first class schedule

Based on the study regulations and using the course catalogue, you can start creating your schedule. The degree schedule provides an example recommendation of which modules should ideally be embarked on in each semester. The module appendix in the study regulations contains detailed information about each module.

The module abbreviations can also be found in the course catalogue. This allows you to directly select and embark on the appropriate modules. (Technical) information from the HRZ regarding course registration in QIS/LSF can be found here.

Don’t leave your schedule planning until the last minute—this way, you can start the lecture period relaxed and well-prepared, and address any questions with your academic advisor in a timely manner. Orientation events also provide valuable tips for creating your schedule.
