Adorno High School
Adorno High School was established in 2015 as a six-track G-9 high school in Frankfurt-Höchst under the working title “Gymnasium-Nied.” The name was changed to Adorno High School in January 2019 in preparation for the move to the Westend University Campus in summer 2019.
The school’s unique profile focuses on social sciences, guided by the four Kantian questions (What can I know? What should I do? What may I hope for? What is the human being?), which inspire interdisciplinary, cross-subject, and project-based teaching. This approach is implemented in the school’s curricular work as part of an education for sustainable development (ESD). The school actively fosters partnerships with university institutions, such as the Riedberg University Campus. By its second year, Adorno High School had already been recognized as a STEM-friendly school and, as a full-day school under Profile II, offers educational programs Monday through Friday until 4:00 PM, which are almost exclusively led by its own teaching staff.
