Geomedia Lab Frankfurt

The Geomedienlabor Frankfurt is an extracurricular learning and research center for students and teachers that supplements classroom work in the subjects of geography and society, geomedia education, and spatial communication and action. To this end, we offer a wide range of target group-specific student-oriented individual events, project days, and excursions, as well as teacher training courses and workshops.

The practical learning activities focus on the creative and critical use of analog and digital geomedia in everyday life and education. The spectrum of possible applications for promoting subject knowledge, methodological competence, spatial orientation, and reflective geomedia competence among students ranges from classic map work to the use of Web 2.0-based map applications, digital globes, and geoinformation systems to the application of GPS-based “geo-apps” on mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.
