Network programs

ZIAF takes a leading role in creating and supporting structures that build academic networks between Africa and Europe, as well as worldwide.

These programmes organise collaborative events in Africa and support African early-career researchers. ZIAF currently co-organises and supports two such programmes.

Point Sud Programme

The DFG-funded Point Sud Programme organises events to promote networking and scholarly exchange among researchers and institutions from Germany, Africa, Europe, and other parts of the world.

The Maria Sibylla Merian Institute for Advanced Studies in Africa (MIASA) supports resident fellows and also organises a programme of high-profile events across the African continent.
