    Focus of Research

The central focus of my research is the dynamics of the atmosphere. Particular attention is paid to the interaction between different scales and atmospheric layers. These topics are of great relevance in the development of efficient climate models and in the improvement of weather forecasting models. Great importance is attached to hierarchical modeling, which should contribute to the greatest possible understanding of the underlying mechanisms. Methods used are multiscale asymptotics, stochastic modelling, machine learning, and numerical simulations in a hierarchy of models of varying complexity.
