Master's Thesis
Supervision
Students independently choose a supervisor based on their individual interests. Depending on their field of expertise, the professors of the department of physics offer a variety of master's theses.
Finding a topic
Preparation for the master’s thesis takes place through specialization during the degree program, particularly through the selection of a research group seminar and the completion of the project work. A special feature is the close involvement of students in the department’s research groups while they are writing their master’s thesis. It is also possible to write a master’s thesis at at one of the department's cooperation partners, such as the GSI Helmholtz Center for Heavy Ion Research, upon request or by agreement with the supervisor.
Registration
The master's thesis must be registered at the examination office using the registration form. After that, students have three months to finalize the thesis.
Submission
After completing their master's thesis, students must submit three hard copies and a digital copy (on CD or USB drive) to the examination office. The thesis must be accompanied by a declaration of independence in which they confirm that they have completed the thesis using only the indicated resources (including AI tools).
