Introductory course
A special event for our first-year students is the introductory course.
The course provides insights into various disciplines of theology, explores current theological questions, and introduces academic work techniques. In small groups, students are guided by a tutor and explore the campus and key locations in Frankfurt, such as the Haus am Dom.
A particular highlight is the legendary Kirchähr weekend: All participants of the introductory course spend three days at a conference center, forming a close-knit community. During this time, they discuss on their choice of major and the expectations and challenges associated with it.
The introductory course is always offered during the winter semester. Be sure to attend the course during your first or second semester.

BA-Thesis
Students typically complete their studies with the bachelor’s thesis. However, it is possible to write the thesis earlier, provided you have successfully completed Modules 1–6. The bachelor’s thesis is worth 12 credit points (CP), and you have 9 weeks to complete it. Students choose their advisor, who is usually the first examiner. The Examination Board appoints the second examiner, but students may also suggest someone for this role. Together with their advisor, students select the topic of the thesis, which they then register with the examinations office.
For more details, please refer to § 36 of the examination regulations.
