The Faculty of Catholic Theology sees itself as a site of innovative, critically reflective, and socially engaged theology. Shaped by the academic environment of a renowned research university and inspired by the programmatic profile of the Frankfurt School, our theology is characterized by methodological clarity, intellectual independence, and a strong sensitivity to the challenges of the present.  

In the tradition of a culture of critical reasoning, we understand theology as an academic discipline in dialogue with other fields, society, and the Church. Our research and teaching are open to new questions and advance theological ways of thinking that contribute constructively, self-critically, and responsibly to contemporary discourses.
