You have completed a master's degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology or a related discipline and would like to pursue a doctorate here? Then click here.

PhD candidates and postdocs at Goethe University have access to GRADE, the (Post)Graduate Academy, which offers early career researchers a wide range of support and development opportunities.

You have already completed your doctorate and would like to conduct your own research project at our department? Then you should consider submitting a project proposal. You can find helpful information on national and international funding opportunities on the research support's pages.

Please start by contacting one of our professors with a brief outline of your project idea and the funding line you are interested in. It is essential to ensure that there is a substantial fit in terms of research interest and approach. Do have a look at our list of research expertises at the department! Once you have received the green light, you can start working on your application. Goethe University's Research Support Office will be happy to assist you.
