Course content and focus areas

Building on the knowledge and skills acquired during the bachelor's degree in bioinformatics, the master's program provides advanced, research-oriented expertise in the areas of network analysis/systems biology, sequence analysis/data mining, structural analysis/molecular modeling, and neuroprocesses/computational neurobiology as core subjects. Elective courses in computer science, biology, chemistry, biophysics, and medicine allow students to gain additional specialized knowledge and skills.

Through a research internship, students have the opportunity to acquire insights into current research areas and actively contribute to research tasks.

Graduates are well-prepared for lifelong learning and diverse career paths thanks to the foundational focus of the education. The master's program is designed to enable graduates to take on independent roles and challenging tasks in both academia and industry right from the start. In particular, graduates are equipped to assume leadership positions.
