In the summer semester of 2022, the dual undergraduate program in Midwifery Science (B.Sc.) will launch through a cooperation between Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences and Johann Wolfgang Goethe University. This program is based on the 2020 law governing the course and profession of midwives – the Midwifery Act (HebG). The degree program is designed as an eight-semester full-time course (standard period of study) with a total workload of 7,200 hours. Its dual structure combines academic and practical learning environments, integrating theory and practice. Students are supported in connecting their coursework and experiences to advance their professional practice. Graduates earn a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree and receive state certification as a midwife upon successful completion of the program.
