Career opportunities
The pharmacy program provides the foundation for a wide range of exciting career opportunities, all supported by a strong professional ethos, family-friendly policies—making it easy to take a career break and return to work—and full employment. About 80% of graduates work in public pharmacies, either as self-employed professionals or as employees. In addition, there are many other career paths, such as working in hospital pharmacies, the pharmaceutical industry, universities and other research institutions, government agencies, or as educators at vocational schools (e.g., PTA schools). Over the years, the economic stability of the pharmacy profession has proven to be resilient, and there continues to be a high nationwide demand for pharmacists, which is expected to grow even further in the future.
Doctorate:
After completing their education as a pharmacist, graduates can pursue a doctorate, allowing for scientific specialization in a specific area of pharmacy. During the 3–4 years of the doctorate program, students work on their own research project and complete their dissertation. Earning a doctorate opens up a wide range of additional career opportunities in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry (e.g., research and development, production, quality control, marketing and distribution) or in research institutions.
