The bachelor of science in Business and Economic Education focuses on building a broad foundation of knowledge in the fields of economics, business education, and—depending on the branch of study—psychology/diagnostics and labor law (Branch I) or a general (teaching) subject. Upon completing the program, students will be particularly equipped to organize learning environments in vocational business schools or workplaces and support learning processes. The program also provides foundational knowledge in research methods and includes an internship in either a business or school setting.
A unique feature of the Frankfurt bachelor in Business and Economic Education program is the close integration of business administration, economics, and business education, combined with a comprehensive acquisition of methodological skills. The communication of theoretical, institutional, and empirical knowledge, as well as methodological expertise, is designed to foster your critical and interdisciplinary thinking, enabling you to solve problems in the context of vocational teaching and learning.
The program aims to contribute to the development of individuals who can analyze and evaluate the social impacts of economic decisions based on concepts of economic ethics. The focus is on a holistic business education training that prepares you for a socially responsible role in both school-based and non-school-based education and professional training.
The broad scope of the Frankfurt bachelor’s program in Business and Economic Education not only provides you with an excellent foundation for starting your career but also opens up opportunities for further study and specialization in a master’s program. The Frankfurt master’s program in Business and Economic Education offers unique features in both of its branches of study: Branch II focuses on school-based education, while Branch I emphasizes corporate training. In Branch II, we collaborate closely with Hessian teacher training seminars, which support the preparation, implementation, and follow-up of school internships. In Branch I, similar support is provided by experienced practitioners from the field of staff development. Additionally, we work in partnership with the faculty of Psychology, giving you in-depth insights into key areas of staff development and diagnostics. This structure ensures a strong connection between theory and practice in both branches of study.
